Understanding agreements
When the growing interest in jazz and other music, I like more and more people are asking for the agreements and construction agreements. Although there are many books out there on the market, there is very little explanation of chord symbols are interpreted. Let me share some of my view of all that music lovers. Many song sheets chords of the guitar or keyboard players. Functional names are not used for this purpose. Instead, the root and the quality of agreement is what might be called a lead sheet notation (eg F # and Amaj dim7).
Figuration consists of 3 parts:
1. ROOT
name in alphabetical order of the rope.
namely A, Bb GF # etc.
2. The type of agreement
Showing major, minor, dominant, increased or decreased.
3. Extension:
Ringtones added to the basic three chords note (triad) that alters the sound but not his type. The extensions are represented by the step numbers of the scale, ie. 9, 11, 13
That's the kind of basic agreement:
Relevant declared GMaj, GMA, GM, or just G (. Note: The Capitol "M" used to describe the most important agreements). Major chords are sometimes written without naming the type of agreement. The symbols are also used to describe the major chords, ie.
Identify small gmin, income support, Gm or G (NB: lower case "m" is used to describe minor chords) ..
Dominant 7 Indicated only root number and extension. Since few major chords and dominant 7 chords can be written without the names of the agreement, the following will help you distinguish between a major chord and a dominant chord: If the extension number for the first time the name of root or letter of agreement is 7 or more, and do not specify more or less, making it a dominant chord.
Example: C7b5, C13, C9 and C7sus4 are all dominant chords, but CM11 is a minor chord and CMaj.9 is a major chord.
If the extension number for the first time the name of the root or letter of the agreement is 6 or less, there is a major chord.
Example: C6 / 9, C2, Csus4 are all major chords
Increased
These are the three note chords in August marked G, G + G or # 5
EXCEPTION: G-7 remains a dominant chord is the G-7 # 5
Reduced
